The Soufriere Scotts Head Marine Reserve (SSMR) is located on the south-western coast of Dominica and encompasses the communities of Soufriere and Scotts Head and surrounding marine areas. The Reserve was established to help conserve marine resources, protect biodiversity, reduce user conflicts and support the sustainable use of the marine environment. The SSMR is managed by the Local Area Management Authority (LAMA), working with local stakeholders to protect and sustainably manage this important marine ecosystem.
